I was recently introduced to the wild world of IT Technical Recruiting. I have a background of Telecom Wireless and Sales. I have the drive to Succeed at this job and want to make this my Permanent career. I have joined many networking special interest groups. The trick is to find the key people that my niche is focused around. This is the hard part!

Recently I attended a techy function only to find it was less tech and more drinking. So whats a young professional to do. While I did get some underground feedback on some hot spots that the local tech types hang out. It just wasnt enough. I did run into another young professional female tech recruiter who gave me some excellent advice and was impressed that I had enough sense to attend a tech function. While I am sure it was obvious why we were there everyone was kind enough to talk for a mintue or two and provide some outside insight.

If there is anyone out there that can suggest any advice on how to really hown in on my area of expertise. Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery,IT Security,Database Risk Management

I would love to hear it. This could also be a timing since I am fairly new to the industry maybe this just takes time to get it down. Thank you for reading and looking forward to any answers.

Cheers,
